Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly financial close process and ensure records are maintained in accordance with GAAP
  • Develop and maintain a financial reporting package that is instrumental in guiding the business
  • Primary point of contact for the Company’s external auditors and manage the annual audit process
  • Ensure a strong internal control environment is maintained and best practices are followed at all times
  • Primary liaison with external audit firm regarding all corporate state and federal tax returns
  • Point person for the Company’s banking relationship and treasury function o Track all cash accounts and manage cash availability o Maintain relationships with bank o Monthly and quarterly bank covenant reporting
  • Primary signor on all bank accounts
  • Responsible for overseeing all day to day functions of the accounting department o Accounts Receivable – billing and collections o Accounts Payable
  • Work with accounts receivable supervisor to ensure timely collection of accounts
  • Maintain corporate insurance policies (general liability, automobile etc)

Additional Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for all financial information for the Company’s ownership group
  • Point person for the financial integration of acquisition targets
  • Manage a staff of 10 clerical and professional personnel
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and the ability to apply accounting theory to the Company’s financial environment and industry

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years accounting experience showing progressive advancement through leadership positions
  • Previously held a Controllership position or a position of similar responsibility
  • Must be organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented person who can work in a fast-paced environment requiring the ability to multitask
  • Must posses good communication skills and strong work ethic
  • Must posses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of management

Education, Training and Certification

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, advanced degree a plus
  • CPA or CMA
  • Solid computer skills in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word a plus
  • Computer software experience – general ledger, fixed asset, financial reporting
  • Hospitality industry experience a plus but not required
