Primary Responsibilities

  • The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for all fiscal functions of ABODA by RESIDE. This position is a key executive leadership role within the organization and will also interface with executives within RESIDE and other entities it owns and operates.
  • The chief financial officer has primary responsibility for managing the company's finances, including financial planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping, data analysis, and financial reporting. Supervises the finance unit and directly assists the President and CEOs on all strategic and tactical matters relating to budget management, cost–benefit analysis, forecasting needs, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and implement financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry.
  • Oversee and coordinate M&A activities as it relates to ABODA by RESIDE’S and RESIDE’S various growth mandates to include operating company rollups, real estate investment and acquisitions and asset management functions.Develop sound M&A due diligence practices and integration procedures
  • Oversee the entire treasury function of the Company: Point person for all banking relationships; Manage cash availability through development of a forecasting model to optimize cash and loan balances to support operations; Monthly and quarterly bank covenant reporting
  • Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate financial reporting, budgets, forecasts and identification of trends to support the Executive Team and Board of Directors in guiding the direction of the Company.
  • Evaluate contracts and provide feedback to management from a financial perspective.
  • Oversee the overhaul of the Company’s budget process to include model development, training of department managers and advisor to user groups to aid in thinking through financial issues related to the budget process.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization such as evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions, mergers, investments and alternative sources of funding.
  • Develop an accounting/finance organization that is properly structured to support the growth initiatives of the Company.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Develop and foster a culture within the accounting/finance group that is looking to implement best industry practices and strives for continuous improvement in performance and systems development to support the organization.
  • Primary point of contact for all financial information for the Company’s ownership group
  • Mentor the accounting/finance group personnel on professional career development.
  • Oversee a staff of 10 clerical and professional personnel

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of combined accounting and financial management experience showing progressive advancement through leadership positions
  • Previously held a Vice President of Finance or a CFO position or a position of similar responsibility
  • Organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented leadership person who can work in a fast-paced environment requiring the ability to multitask
  • Able to communicate effectively with executive level management and Board of Directors in addition to interacting with all levels of personnel within the operation
  • Able to understand and think through technical financial and accounting issues and then explain impact in non-technical terms to non-financial management.
  • Must instill and maintain the highest ethical standards within the finance/accounting group at all times
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically to drive strategic vision of Company while dealing with tactical issues

Education, Training and Certification

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA/CMA, MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Solid computer skills in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word a plus
  • Hospitality industry experience a plus but not required
  • Up to 25% travel could be required
